Pearce Group has been awarded a £12m design and build contract by Gerber Foods Limited.

Bristol-based Pearce Group has been awarded a £12m design and build contract by Gerber Foods Limited.

This is the second phase of the development programme to build a packaging and distribution centre in Bridgwater for Gerber, one of the UK's leading suppliers of fruit juice.

The first phase, also undertaken by Pearce Group is now nearing completion.

The overall construction project will deliver a new, 250,000 square foot facility designed to process in excess of 400 million litres of fruit juice each year.

Commenting on the project, Pearce Group Managing Director, Colin Forest said: "Naturally we are delighted to have won this contract; we have now nearly completed the first phase of the programme and this award is a great reflection on the quality of work that we have already undertaken".

"We value our relationship with Gerber very highly and are all looking forward to seeing the building completed towards the end of 2006.".
