A Permanite product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 21, 2008

Permanite Engineered Roofing Systems will be exhibiting its IKOgreen range of green roof systems and sustainable waterproofing solutions at Ecobuild at London's Earls Court.

Part of the IKO Group, Permanite's range of green roof systems are supported by the widest range of waterproofing options of any green roof manufacturer, including reinforced bituminous membranes, hot melt monolithic systems, mastic asphalt and single ply membranes.

The IKOgreen range of innovative green roof systems include extensive, intensive and biodiverse systems.

Tim Wood, Green Roof Product Manager at Permanite says; "As a company which is committed to operating efficiently and the ongoing development of sustainable products, we welcome Ecobuild as a chance to demonstrate our green credentials".

"As well as green roof systems, we are able to supply a comprehensive range of waterproofing for the building envelope, from roofing systems to damp proof courses".

"Our single ply membranes are the most sustainable on the market, while our DPCs feature 70% recycled material".

""Green roofs are a key sustainable technology which delivers solutions to many problems, from helping to combat climate change, to reducing the risk of flooding and creating alternative habitats for wildlife.

The green roof industry is clearly developing rapidly and we are noticing an increased demand for biodiverse systems as more ecologists get involved in the planning and specification process.

Biodiverse systems can be created to perfectly suit the local flora of an area and can also be left to self colonise".

""Permanite is developing a strong reputation within the green roof market and particularly for biodiverse systems".

"Our reputation is being strengthened by the range and quality of the complete systems we provide, as well as our heritage and experience as an expert in waterproofing and design." A principal sponsor of the Green Roof Campaign, which works to raise the profile of green roofs in the UK, Permanite has installed a webcam onto the roof of Manchester's Unicorn Grocery to enable internet users to view one of the country's most outstanding biodiverse green roofs.
