Elliott Fastrack builds school extension

An Elliott Off-Site Building Solutions product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Apr 29, 2009

The London Borough of Redbridge has commissioned Elliott Fastrack to design and build a three-storey extension to Ursuline High School in Ilford.

The works created a vibrant, modern school complex with a strong identity that produces a coherent and stimulating educational environment.

At the front of the school the principal facade is constructed with a sinuously curving wall that incorporates a mosaic tiled cross inset into a rendered finish.

A number of energy saving features were incorporated into the Elliott Fastrack design including heat recovery units, PIR activated lighting and condensing boiler systems.

Elliott said that this was one of the most logistically challenging projects it has delivered, mainly due to the limited access and also the live school environment.

The company added that the project was delivered on time, within budget and finished to a high standard.
