Philips sponsors Grand Designs' House of Future

A Philips Lighting product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 19, 2010

Philips Lighting will sponsor the House of the Future at the Grand Technology section at the forthcoming Grand Designs Live London show.

Philips will be exhibiting LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting innovations as well as LED based accessories for the home.

Philips will also be using the show to unveil products which use emerging OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) technology.

While LEDs emit sharp, precise beams of light, OLEDs produce a very diffused, soft light.

As a result of these specific characteristics, OLEDs are predicted to open up new possibilities as complementary light sources to LEDs.

Philips will be offering visitors the chance to view and purchase the Philips Ledino collection.

The Philips range of LED bulbs are designed to use up to 90 per cent less energy than standard incandescent bulbs.

Philips range of products offer both practical and inspirational ways for consumers to create the right ambience in the home in an energy efficient way.

Philips sponsorship rights include extensive ground level branding across the Grand Technology section of the event.

In addition Philips will have brand presence across print and online media, as well as across all marketing and PR promotional materials for the show.

Philips will also have the opportunity to interact directly with an audience of more than 105,000 consumers at the event.

As part of the sponsorship deal, Philips will be the sponsor of the Best Eco Home category at this year's Grand Designs Awards.

Grand Designs Live London show will take place from 1-9 May 2010, at London's ExCel Centre.

The Grand Designs Awards will be held on the 6 May during the event.
