Austin Smith Lord, a top AJ100 architectural practice, has specified PROJECTminder for a new high visibility Financial Project Management system.

Austin Smith Lord (ASL) employs 170 staff throughout its offices in the UK and works in the arts and culture, health, public, education and commercial sectors It is responsible for numerous award winning buildings, including The John Rylands Library in Manchester and the new Leeds City Museum

The five figure order win is the latest for the web based specialist project management software, PROJECTminder, which is now used by 19 of the top AJ100 practices.

Written specifically for use in the architectural practice, PROJECTminder provides a breadth of functionality and level of control that is unique in the market providing tailored tools for efficient budgeting, fee forecasting, resource planning and time and expense capture.

Joe Emanuele, Partner at ASL said: "We are extremely pleased to be progressing with PROJECTminder.

Having evaluated many other products on the market it was the best fit for our specific needs.

Our key requirement is to integrate all of the financial information on a project into one desk top resource for all of our staff.

This real time information will assist us further in our drive towards profitability and providing value for money for our clients' staff.

The flexibility of the Web based delivery means we can roll out quickly with minimum load on our inter-office network and our IT resources.

Andrew Heath, Sales Director for PH-media said: "The order from ASL is the culmination of many months of fact finding and working with Joe to ensure that PROJECTminder would meet the specific needs of the business.

Now with almost 1 in 5 of the top architects in the country as our clients we have a solid base from which to bolster our position in the market.

For many of our clients it is the ease of use, industry focus and rapid deployment that make PROJECTminder an easy choice.

Most practices are moving towards a 'best of breed' approach where they cherry pick suppliers with the requisite skills.

Using a generalist system is always high risk as the results are more difficult to guarantee.".
