Pick Everard has completed work on the fast track construction of a 1000 staff capacity customer service centre for Norwich Union.

A team of project managers, civil, structural, highway engineering and environmental engineers at Glasgow-based Pick Everard has completed work on the fast track construction of a £9million, 1000 staff capacity customer service centre for Norwich Union in East Dunbartonshire The impressive new building was handed over on 7 August and staff moved in on 10 August

The footprint of the centre is some 100 x 80m and is surrounded on three sides by a 380-space car park with ample provision for buses and service vehicles.

The full height glass frontage provides outstanding views across the Kelvin Valley to the Campsie Fells.

Strathkelvin Development Company, the development arm of East Dunbartonshire Council, first appointed Pick Everard in 2004 to develop the infrastructure for a brownfield site originally intended for industrial buildings.

When the brief changed from industrial to commercial development, work revealed that the site needed £1.5million of enabling and remediation works including re-contouring following removal of an extensive 1.5m deep layer of underground concrete.
