Construction Architects and structural engineers from Pick Everard are working on a refurbishment project at HMP Leeds with Henry Boot Construction.

Pick Everard appointed to new HMP refurbishment projects with Henry Boot Construction Architects and structural engineers from Pick Everard are working on a GBP14million refurbishment project at HMP Leeds with Henry Boot Construction.

Detailed plans for refurbishing B wing in the listed Victorian prison were submitted for listed building consent at the end of August after full consultation with English Heritage.

Plans for refurbishment will involve bringing accommodation up to a modern standard while conserving the building fabric.

Construction is expected to start on site before the end of the year.

Pick Everard have worked with Henry Boot Construction before, on a similar prison refurbishment project at HMP Wakefield, prior to the HMP Strategic Alliance.

Project director at Pick Everard, David Nisbet explains," The alliance with Henry Boot Construction for HMP refurbishment projects in the Northern Region is proving very successful.

Having worked together at HMP Wakefield, we've developed a very strong design and construction team that has now secured several new projects.

As well as HMP Leeds, the two firms are also working together on other smaller projects at HMP Hull and HMP Full Sutton.

Pick Everard is also the lead architect on a GBP33million development at HMP High Down in Surrey, working in partnership with Kier Custodial and NOMS Property.
