Pick Everard awarded contract by NHS Highland for the new build development of an GBP18m Day Services Unit at Raigmore Hospital.

Pick Everard has been awarded a contract by NHS Highland, with lead consultant and architect Keppie Design, to provide mechanical and electrical engineering and building services advice for the new build development of an GBP18m Day Services Unit at Raigmore Hospital in the heart of Inverness Due to open in 2009, the unit will also house specialist renal and endoscopy departments

Raigmore Hospital is a an acute general hospital and a clinical teaching centre, providing the University of Aberdeen's (UOA) second undergraduate medical teaching site.

Plans are underway to establish an academic teaching and research unit (the Highlands and Islands Research Institute) on site jointly with UOA.

The North of Scotland Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and the University of Stirling department of nursing and midwifery (Highland Campus) are also based on the Raigmore site.

Pick Everard celebrated its tenth successful year in Scotland in 2007, with public sector clients in education, police and local authorities.

Projects have been completed for Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde, Glasgow Metropolitan College, East Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire, Western Isles and The Highland Councils, The Northern Joint Police Board, Strathclyde Police and The Forestry Commission.

In the private sector, clients include the Scottish Media Group, Morgan, May Gurney and Barhale.
