Luna Range bags top industry award
Pilkington's,Tiles wins tile industry (TTA) 'Floor Tile of the Year' award for its latest product innovation, the 'Luna' range from Dorset Woolliscroft.
Pilkington's, the market leading ceramic, vitrified and terrazzo tile manufacturing group has just announced that it has won the tile industry (TTA) 'Floor Tile of the Year' award for its latest product innovation, the 'Luna' range from Dorset Woolliscroft.
The product range captivated the judges who celebrated its British manufacture, fully vitrified versatility, attractive design and contemporary appeal.
Dorset Luna tiles are entirely unique, with a softly textured structure that offers the best in slip resistance, quoting a top R12 rating, and giving architects and specifiers confidence that the product range will perform in exceptional conditions.
Its design and technical features are widespread, offering both internal and external application uses, comfort underfoot, and with matching coves, channels and fittings, is the perfect edge to edge floor solution for fitting out leisure pool, health and wellbeing spas and fitness suites.
Its 300mm x 300mm modular size also contributes to its sense of chic.
Additionally, the combination of sophisticated contemporary colourways (White, Grey Steel, Quartz, Dark Grey, Blue) and design elegance, makes it the perfect solution for domestic environments.
Because it is fully vitrified, building designers can create a seamless fusion in flooring between bathroom, kitchen, living spaces, and, due to its slip and frost resistance performance, can extend the flooring through to exterior spaces.
Katie Turner, Group Creative Director, and Steve Munton, National Sales Manager - Specification and Housebuilding explain how the range fills a number of gaps in the market.
"Architects and Specifiers are looking for attractive, innovative solutions that imitate natural materials but that perform in exceptional and varied atmospheric conditions".
"Dorset Luna is a quality British made product that does just that." explains Steve.
"The UK consumer is becoming more creative, using more cosmopolitan influences in their schemes".
"Our unique position and vast experience in design and colour trend forecasting means that we are able to predict design influences, and that means we are able to design products that are ahead of their time, perfect for the design and build and construction markets".
Says Katie, who adds, "As well as fulfilling the needs of the specifier, we developed this range to provide a stylish tile collection that professionals and consumers could use in domestic applications, blending modern, seamless lines with comfort and easy clean maintenance appeal".
The technical and performance aspects and appealing design features makes the Luna range arguably one of the most versatile floor tiles in this market.
