Kopex International's Pipe-prep, the highly innovative tool that prepares copper pipe ends for joining and soldering, has won the prestigious CORGI Award for New Product of the Year 2006.

The award was made at the recent InstallerLive exhibition held at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry in October.

Pipe-prep was recognised for its innovative approach on designing a combined tool for deburring and cleaning copper pipe, saving the plumbing and heating professional time and money, avoiding rework and preventing failures on soldered joints.

Kopex has now scooped a CORGI Award two years running.

Its complementary Pipeslice tool for cutting copper pipe won the CORGI Award for Innovation in 2005.

Kopex's Pipe Tools Director of Sales David Ward comments: "It's a great honour to win a Corgi 'Oscar' two years running".

"Pipeslice and Pipe-prep are simple yet highly effective tools".

"These are original Kopex products noted for their clever design, quality of manufacture and performance in the field".

"There simply is no other combined purpose tool on the market that comes close to matching the quick, safe and clean preparation offered by Pipe-prep.".
