'Reel' Easy Installations

Wave goodbye to snagging and unfurling cables and wires with Pirelli's new Easy Reel system.

Most electrical contractors will have experienced problems at one time or another when using wire or cables stored on traditional reels.

With reels, there's always the need for a pole or bar to hang the reels on for ease of use, and often the wire is prone to snagging as it is unfurled.

It's often a clumsy and irritating way of getting the job done and has been a bugbear for electrical contractors and installers for years.

All that is set to change with the launch of Easy Reel by Pirelli.

With the new Easy Reel system the cable or wire is not put onto a reel but held in place within a box and is pulled easily through a hole in the top of the box (rather like a giant box of tissues!).

It is simple and quick to use and dispenses easily with no complications.

In addition, the boxes can be stacked, making storage, carriage and multiple cable installation easier.

As the packaging is simply a cardboard box, Easy Reel is kinder to the environment, creates less waste and can be recycled much more easily than traditional reels.

In addition, a viewing in the side of the box lets the user know exactly how cable or wire they have left.

One of the most common complaints from electrical contractors and installers regarding wire and cable reels was the constant snagging and tangling during installation.

Easy Reel was developed to avoid this, make storage easier and create less waste.

The system was well received during trials with contractors who reported that using the system would save them time, money and eradicate the need for a second person standing by the reels untangling the cable or wire.
