New Pirelli Cable Installation Mean Huge Savings

System Pirelli is set to revolutionise the electrical contracting sector with the launch of its FP FIREFIX cable installation system, allowing Pirelli's market leading FP200 Gold and FP Plus fire-resistant cables to be installed in just a tenth of the time taken using traditional fixing methods.

This reduction in installation time not only means cost savings of up to 50% but also greater on-site productivity.

The FP FIREFIX system allows the cable clips to be pre-installed ready for a qualified electrician to add the cable later.

Pirelli has developed FP FIREFIX in an exclusive partnership with ITW Construction Products, the construction industry's leading tool and fixing manufacturer.

Specially designed cable clips and adaptors have been produced by Pirelli to allow FP FIREFIX to be used with ITW's Spit Pulsa 700E cordless gas nailing tool, which is ideally suited to large volume installations.

This system fixes each clip in just 10 seconds.

In a market where the continuing shortage of qualified electricians and rising labour rates are major issues facing electrical contractors, Pirelli is providing a real solution with an efficient, standardised cable fixing system which is very easy to use.

"The extensive pilot tests we have carried out found that FP FIREFIX dramatically improves productivity and leads to significant cost savings.

The system is fully compliant with the new cable fixing requirements of BS5839-1:2002." FP FIREFIX clips are available in red or white and are designed to take the most commonly used FP cable sizes.

The FP FIREFIX system can be purchased now from stockists of Pirelli's FP200 Gold and FP Plus cables, in kits of 500 fixings.

Pirelli are offering a 10-year warranty on installations of FP Plus and FP 200 Gold cables that use the FP FIREFIX fixing system.
