Pittura Italian decorative applied finishes in UK

A Pittura product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 23, 2007

Original Italian decorative finishes are now exclusively available in the UK through a bespoke application service provided by Pittura .

Pittura is offering specialist decorative coatings applied by Italian artisans.

Based on original natural products used for thousands of years, traditional techniques have been developed to create stuccoes and slaked lime finishes.

Uniquely, stuccoes are made from seasoned slaked lime produced by kiln baking river pebbles mixed with selected siliceous sand and ten-per-cent marble. The Rialto range is one of the few lime-based products seasoned for two years.

Stucco products include: Stucco Bronzo - Ottone and Stucco Oro - Argento metallic coatings popular for modern use in hotels and airports.

Epoca Spatolato is a glazed mineral coating applied with a spatula to create a shiny surface and Epoca Veneziano is a high gloss mineral coating invented in Medieval Venice, used extensively in Italian palazzi.

Rialto lime plaster has been used to decorate the Fendi Palace in Rome and in the Quirinale Palace; the seat of the President of the Italian Republic.

Specialists have reinforced the mortar in the Coliseum using Rialto products.

Although new to the UK market, the Rialto range has produced authentic, decorative finishes in hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, cinemas art galleries, concert halls and listed homes worldwide, using Italian trained craftsmen from Pittura.

Architects, designers and specifiers are invited to view the new Rialto showroom in Hayes, Middlesex and to request a catalogue, colour charts and information directly from Pittura.
