Star players from St Helens Rugby League Football Club - the world famous Saints - will be joining their shirt sponsors Pilkington Activ on the Pilkington stand at this years Glassex.

The Saints players will be meeting fans and signing rugby balls for visitors to the Pilkington stand from lunchtime on Wednesday 9th, the second day of the event There will also be a signed and framed Saints shirt that will be given away in a draw to be held on the stand at the end of the show

Saints and Pilkington have a long relationship that stretches back more than 130 years since the formation of the rugby club (Pilkington was founded in 1826) but the present winning partnership began last season when Pilkington Activ stepped in to sponsor the team for the crucial latter stages of its hugely successful season, including the semi and final appearances in the Carnegie Challenge Cup - which Saints won in the first ever rugby league final at the new Wembley - and the Super League Grand Final.

Following those successes, when the Pilkington Activ brand was emblazoned upon the Saints shirts in front of literally millions of fans in watching live and on television, Pilkington Activ has committed to shirt sponsorship for the full 2008 season which kicked off in February.

"We are really looking forward to welcoming the Saints stars to the Pilkington stand at Glassex," says Pilkington Building Products' Julia Berkin.

"We want everyone to come along and meet the players and the rest of the Pilkington team.".
