Places for People conduct census of its 130,000 customers to find out how they feel their local communities can be improved.

Christmas has come early for one resident from St Paul's this year after they scooped a GBP1,000 cash prize from Places for People - the UK's largest housing and regeneration group - in a nationwide draw Oliver Musabe, a customer with Places for People - which has over 5,000 customers in Bristol - was entered in to the draw after completing a 'census' survey that aims to provide better housing services across the UK

The Organisation is conducting a census of its 130,000 customers to find out how they feel their local communities can be improved.

The results of the survey will help the Group improve the local services it offers to customers in Bristol and design new products that are tailored to people's experiences, to tackle amongst other things, the increasing housing affordability crisis, So far 1,000 customers in Bristol have responded and Places for People will be extending the census to a further 4,000 people in the South-west in the New Year.

Oliver who is training to be an accountant said: "This is a wonderful and unexpected surprise especially at this time of year.

The money will make sure that this is a Christmas to remember." "Housing is not just about bricks and mortar but about the communities that live and work in the area.

This survey was a good idea as it means people like myself can make suggestions on how to improve local services.

Being involved will help make a real difference to people in the area." Pat Egan, Head of Housing for the South-west at Places for People said: "I am delighted for Oliver and I am sure that the extra money will help make this a happy Christmas for them.

"We have a strong track record in engaging with our customers and are determined to continue improving and communicating with them, so that they remain at the heart of the organisation.

Their feedback will be an invaluable aid in helping us to shape the future services and products we offer to thousands of customers across the south-west".

Places for People offer a wide range of housing, care and support services to elderly people; first-time buyers and young families; homeless individuals; domestic violence victims and refugees.

It is currently responsible for a number of developments in St Paul's, and offers local people a range of affordable housing options including shared ownership and social homebuy.

The Group recently launched a range of financial services in the area including low cost loans in a bid to ward off doorstep credit lenders and mortgages to help people climb onto the home-ownership ladder.
