Making Places plans to build 250 new high quality homes alongside local facilities on a 24 acre brownfield site in Corby, Northamptonshire.

Major new joint venture to build 250 homes in Oakley Vale.

Making Places - a major new player in the land acquisition and development market - has acquired a 24 acre brownfield site in Corby, Northamptonshire.

It plans to build 250 new high quality homes alongside local facilities on the former limestone quarry.

The GBP20M project will build on the success of the wider Oakley Vale development, which has seen 1,500 new homes being built in the past four years, and has ploughed more than GBP30M worth of investment into the area.

Construction works are expected to start in June 2007 and be completed in spring 2010.

Making Places is a new joint venture between Places for People - one of the largest property management and development companies in the UK - and Cofton, a land regeneration and development specialist with more than 30 years experience.

Formed in February 2007, the partnership will invest GBP300M in land acquisition over the next two years and plans to develop thousands of new high quality, energy efficient homes in sustainable communities.

It is currently building 1,800 new homes on sites in Newcastle and Swindon, bringing back into use over 68 acres of brown field land.
