ISO 9001 and Planability ETI

A Planability product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 31, 2010

Planability has recently asked its customers about their experiences with ISO 9001, and the reports show common themes including the long-term benefits to customer retention and profitability.

Case Study One is involved in set design and build in the fast-moving exhibition sector, and is a relative newcomer to Quality Management systems.

Case Study Two is a twenty year veteran, having started with entirely manual, paper-based systems.

This company manages projects that can take years from start to finish.

Both have high-profile, demanding clients.

Both are involved in managing jobs and projects through all stages though in different industrial sectors; enquiries, costings, estimates, human activities, manufacturing, subcontracting and on-site installation.

The common link is a business process that runs from Enquiry To Invoice (ETI) and the requirement for tight control to hit dates and margins.

Both companies initially found adapting to the rigours of formalised business processes challenging.

Both say the benefits outweigh the costs, reporting that a right first-time approach has resulted in improvements in both customer service and profitability.

The two, one-page case studies are available to download from the Planability website on the ISO9001 tab.
