Planet Platforms, leading manufacturer and distributor of work-place access solutions, has won the Innovation Award category in the first Wakefield District Business Awards.
Planet Platforms, leading manufacturer and distributor of work-place access solutions, has won the Innovation Award category in the first Wakefield District Business Awards.
The awards, which took place for the first time this year, were organised by first the Wakefield District Development Agency and had the backing of some of the region's most dynamic and influential organisations.
Sponsored by Simons Group, the Innovation Award was looking for the best demonstration of new ideas of working that improve the performance of the company.
Planet Platforms entered the awards following extensive research and innovation towards two of their recent products - SAFEpost and AIRdeck.
Toby Pemberton, New Product Development Manager at Planet Platforms expressed his delight at winning the award: "Everyone at Planet is absolutely delighted to win the Innovation Award".

SAFEpost is a fall-arrest system for work carried out on modular or portable buildings; it meets Work at Height legislation.
AIRdeck is an intelligent access platform that employs pneumatic telescopic fingers to enable the work platform to mould closely to the contours of large objects such as aviation engines.
