New arrivals at the Thames Gateway Forum
Many organisations have chosen to exhibit this November due to the huge success of last year, which attracted over 3,500 visitors.
Last year's inaugural Thames Gateway Forum welcomed 130 exhibitors to their conference.
This year the exhibition being held on the 23rd and 24th November will be opening their arms to over 170.
Many organisations have chosen to exhibit this November due to the huge success of last year, which attracted over 3,500 visitors.
Some of the new organisations include PLANIT EOD and SAandR plc who are both working within the area of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO).
These two organisations join BACTEC International who work within the same field and exhibited at the Forum last year.
PLANIT EOD and BACTEC International deal with the site investigation and clearance of land contaminated with UXO; each company utilises very different approaches, methodologies and technology solutions in the delivery of their individual services.
Both companies are exhibiting at the Thames Gateway Forum to allow developers within the Thames Gateway Region visibility of the range of UXO services available.
There are certain sites that are more at risk from UXO, for example; when developing a site, carrying out site investigation or remediation, extending an existing development, creating new developments or installing road and rail infrastructure on land that was a former MoD property, military range, site of ordnance manufacturing or was subjected to bombing during WWII, then the potential of encountering UXO should be considered in order to safely manage any associated risks.
SAandR plc differ from PLANIT EOD and BACTEC International as they provide specialist advice on all contaminated land issues.
They provide a comprehensive and cost effective service which is aimed at determining the potential risks that are associated with brownfield sites and providing the relevant information to enable budget costs for remedial works to be calculated.
They provide a desk study, intrusive investigation and qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
Following completion of the investigation works SAandR are then able to design and implement a remediation scheme that will render the site suitable for its proposed end use.
They will also undertake all liaisons with the necessary authorities to obtain approval for the proposed scheme.
