New to the UK market, Platz Haus (UK), launched its latest Fusion range of homes at the Grand Designs Live exhibition Combining post and beam with wood panel construction techniques, the Platz Fusion range is the only 'timber framed' home to offer privacy from passers-by while ensuring the sun shines in! So, for homeowners who would like a lovely sunny open plan family room looking out over the garden, but don't want to be overlooked by strangers walking past the front door, the Platz Fusion range is the solution

Equally, for developers looking for something just a little bit different, the range offers premium design with maximum flexibility while offering all the other benefits of off-site construction, including shorter project times, minimising weather and other risks and a reduction in the number of contractors required on-site.

Architect's impressions of the new Fusion range are now available and Platz is able to design individual homes using its new CAD software.

The Fusion range, combining post and beam and wood panel construction has many advantages for the UK market, where plots are generally smaller than on mainland Europe.

Platz is the only manufacturer of timber framed homes to offer this choice.

Fusion homes are bespoke manufactured to meet the exact specification of the homebuyer or developer and feature a wood and glass facade for the "sunny side" of the house and a traditional, better insulated wood panel facade where more privacy is needed.

This offers the ideal solution for homebuyers attracted to post and beam construction, but limited by planning restrictions and possible concerns about being overlooked by neighbours.

And the choice is not limited to the exterior, interior floor plans in a Fusion home are equally flexible, giving house buyers the option of creating a one-off home that is perfect for their needs.

And of course, once the design has been agreed, on-site construction times are considerably reduced.

All homes are manufactured off-site to very precise tolerances under ideal factory conditions, including pre-fitting of installations, drainage and electricity.

The wall, ceiling and roof panels are then delivered to site where a team of Platz master carpenters complete assembly.

This rapid construction technique ensures that a Platz Fusion home is watertight, lockable and secure in less than three days, with the roof, all windows and the entrance door fitted.

In a complete turnkey operation the technical installation and interior decoration are usually completed within 10-12 weeks and ready for immediate occupation.

Platz Haus (UK) is the UK distributor for Carl Platz , the German-based manufacturer of precision engineered homes manufactured off-site primarily from wooden materials.

Targeting both the self builder and small/medium size developers of premium homes, off-site construction offers real added value and potential profit.

The final market value of a completed Platz home is likely to significantly exceed the original market value of the plot and the cost of the house.

Carl Platz is located in Bad Saulgau, in southern Germany close to Lake Constance and Friedrichshafen and just 75 minutes flying time from London Stansted, visitors from the UK are welcome at the factory and show home village.

An ISO 9001:2000 accredited company, Platz Haus has won a number of design and environmental awards.
