Polysafe Hydro and Polysafe Standard sheet vinyl safety flooring from Polyflor has been installed in new changing rooms and shower areas at The Meridian School in Royston, Herts.

A combination of Polysafe Hydro and Polysafe Standard sheet vinyl safety flooring - from commercial flooring specialist Polyflor - has been installed by Dunstable-based Hi-Tech Flooring in new changing rooms and shower areas at The Meridian School in Royston, Herts Specially developed for continually wet/barefoot areas, Polysafe Hydro features a special textured "pimple" emboss which is ideal for walk-in showers, indoor pool surrounds, changing rooms and hydrotherapy areas

Polysafe Hydro offers an attractive range of eight light, aqueous colours available with a multi-chip or traditional decoration and is designed to co-ordinate with other Polysafe shades for a seamless transition between adjacent use areas.

The use of coloured quartz, aluminium oxide and silicon carbide particles throughout the product thickness enables the range to offer sustained slip resistance for the guaranteed life of the product as well as conforming to EN 13845 Barefoot, the European Norm for Safety Flooring.

Polysafe Standard, which is installed throughout changing areas and in toilets, offers a choice of 16 fresh, modern colourways and a surface emboss which hugely enhances its cleanability.

Like Hydro, quartz crystals, aluminium oxide and silicon carbide particles are incorporated within the product for improved traction and safety underfoot.

The range also meets the requirements of EN 649 and fully conforms to EN 13845, whilst achieving a sustainable slip resistance value of 36 on the RRL Pendulum wet test (Four S rubber) with a surface roughness of Rtm 20um.

Both ranges are fully tested to fire safety standard EN 13501-1, certified as Class Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1 8kw/m2 and the mandatory requirement of EN ISO 11925-2 pass.

Both Polysafe Hydro and Polysafe Standard have been independently tested and results demonstrate that they inhibit the growth of MRSA.

An effective cleaning regime is, however, the most important defence against infection.

In common with all Polysafe vinyl floorcoverings, both ranges are flexible, for easy fitting, welding and site-formed coving and can also be welded at the seams and to coved skirtings to create continuous, impervious surfaces.
