Sweeping curves of brightly coloured sheet vinyl flooring from Polyflor in the new Learning Cafe at London's City and Islington College.

Sweeping curves of brightly coloured sheet vinyl flooring from commercial flooring specialist Polyflor have been employed to mirror the shapes and shades of suspended ceiling panels in the new Learning Cafe at London's City and Islington College Yellow, green and beige colourways from the Polyflor XL PU range and a terracotta from the Polyflor 2000 PUR collection were specified by canteen designers Splash Design of Marple, Cheshire, and installed by flooring contractors Bennett's Furnishers of Manchester

"We wanted the floor design to reflect the curves and colours of the canteen ceiling and the Polyflor ranges proved ideal both in terms of colour choice and overall performance in use," said Kathryn Maund, Capital Project and MandE Contract Manager, at the college.

In addition to a wide colour choice, both products offer significant reductions in maintenance costs and both feature homogeneous monolayer construction for 100% useful life.

Polyflor XL PU and Polyflor 2000 PUR meet the performance requirements of EN 649 and, fully tested to fire safety standard EN 13501-1, are certified as Class Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1 andge;8kw/m2 and the mandatory requirement of EN ISO 11925-2 pass.

In common with all Polyflor sheet vinyl floorcoverings, both can be welded at the seams and to coved skirtings to create continuous, impervious surfaces which offer no sanctuary to dirt and bacteria.
