Aston Villa shower, change and eat on Polyflor
Aston Villa's ultra-modern new training complex features both luxury vinyl tiles and sheet vinyl safety floors from Polyflor .
West Midlands flooring contractor Commercial Carpets and Interiors based in Belbroughton have installed over 2000m of Polysafe Design and Polysafe Hydro sheet vinyl safety flooring and nearly 1000m of Expona art and design luxury vinyl tiles at the complex.
Taken from the Polysafe Design range in 2.5mm gauge, Enamel Grey is featured in changing rooms and toilets, Polysafe Hydro in Tempered Steel is fitted in shower areas, and oak effect Expona brings a rich ambience to the development's restaurant and corridors.
"Safety underfoot for our players is obviously a prime consideration and we are pleased with the performance of Polysafe in these key areas".
"That the flooring is also attractive and easy to clean is a bonus," says stadium manager Tony Diffley.
"And the luxury vinyl tiles in the restaurant and corridors have proved an excellent choice".
Polysafe Design, available in eight shades, incorporates Supratec+, the second generation of Polyflor's unique soil releasing polymer system, now including polyurethane for reduced dirt pick up, even easier maintenance and life cycle cost savings of up to 60%.
Also incorporating coloured quartz, aluminium oxide and silicon carbide particles throughout the full product thickness for improved traction and safety underfoot, Polysafe Design, in common with all Polyflor sheet vinyls, can be welded at the seams and to coved skirtings to create continuous, impervious surfaces.
As well as meeting the performance requirements of EN13845, the product conforms to HSE guidelines, achieving a sustainable slip resistance of >=36 on the RRL Pendulum wet test (Four-S/Slider 96 rubber) and a surface roughness of Rz >= 20um.
Fully tested to fire safety standard EN 13501-1, Polysafe Design is certified as Class Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1 >= 8kw/m2 and the mandatory requirement of EN ISO 11925-2 pass.
Specially developed for continually wet/barefoot areas requiring slip resistance, Polysafe Hydro features a special textured "pimple" emboss which is ideal for walk-in showers, indoor pool surrounds, changing rooms and hydrotherapy areas.
Polysafe Hydro offers an attractive range of eight light, aqueous colours available with a multi-chip or traditional decoration and is designed to co-ordinate with other Polysafe shades for a seamless transition between adjacent use areas.
Hydro also combines the use of coloured quartz, aluminium oxide and silicon carbide particles throughout the product thickness to enable sustained slip resistance for the guaranteed life of the product as well as conforming to EN 13845 Barefoot.
Combining stunning designs with quality materials and proven functionality, the Expona art and design collection has been specially developed to widen the horizons of creative interior design, offering a balanced choice of 20 timber and 20 stone/design effects.
Suitable for very heavy commercial use and ideal for a variety of leisure, education, retail and specific healthcare installations, Expona features a polyurethane surface treatment, aiding maintenance and removing traditional restrictions on freedom of design choice.
