Polyflor shows PUR vinyl floor ranges at Ecobuild

A Polyflor product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Feb 24, 2010

Polyflor will be showcasing two new ranges of heavy duty flooring featuring the company's ultra strong polyurethane reinforcement (PUR) at Ecobuild 2010.

Polysafe Mosaic PUR decorative safety vinyl flooring offers improved cleaning performance.

Classic Mystique PUR smooth vinyl flooring features an injection of colour with a new stronger collection of shades.

Both product ranges incorporate Polyflor's specially engineered cross-linked, UV cured PUR.

The polish-free, low maintenance flooring offers significant sustainable maintenance benefits, including reduced energy, water and chemical usage.

As with many Polyflor products, Classic Mystique PUR and Polysafe Mosaic PUR boast the best BRE Global A+ rating.

They are manufactured using recycled materials and are 100 per cent recyclable, further reducing the impact of Polyflor products on the environment.

Ecobuild visitors will also have the chance to learn more about the Recofloor Vinyl Take-Back Scheme, of which Polyflor is one of two founder members.

The scheme makes the recycling of flooring off-cuts and uplifts easy and efficient, reducing the overall environmental impact of vinyl floor manufacturing.

In 2009, 150 tonnes of waste vinyl flooring was collected and recycled through the scheme, preventing it from going to landfill.

Flooring off-cuts are recycled back into new vinyl flooring while uplifted, or end-of-life-material, is downcycled into traffic calming products, such as traffic cones or road barriers.
