Brand new name for Powerminster.

Powerminster unveiled its new branding this week, marking the start of a new era for Powerminster Gleeson Services.

The business, which specialises in facilities management, gas and electrical maintenance, PFI projects and housing refurbishment, has been part of the highly respected construction company the M J Gleeson Group for 23 years and wanted to reflect this close association by incorporating its parent company into its name.

The newly formed Powerminster Gleeson Services brings together the Group's activities in facilities management, service maintenance and housing refurbishment.

"Gleeson is a very well established and highly respected name in the construction industry and enables us to offer a complete solution to customers that will help drive our business forward," explains Martyn Horton, managing director of Powerminster Gleeson Services.

"As our business has developed over the past 15 years, we have evolved our expertise to offer a wider range of services to contractors, local authorities and PFI partners.

We also now operate on a national as well as a regional basis, with major contracts in the North West, Kent, London as well as throughout Yorkshire.

He adds: "The addition of 'Gleeson Services' demonstrates that we are still a service business, but now have greater visibility because of the backing of the well known Gleeson brand".

The unveiling of the new signage also coincided with the opening of the company's newly refurbished offices, which were badly damaged in this summer's floods.

The ground floor of the company's headquarters at Don Road near Brightside Lane, was completely flooded back in June, with all power, phone and internet connections to the building completely wiped out.

Business was back to usual within 24 hours with staff who were normally based on the ground floor, moving up to the first floor offices.

The clean-up operation has taken just over three months in total with staff returning to the renovated ground floor offices this week.

Powerminster Gleeson Services has its head office in Sheffield with regional offices in, Cumbria, West and North Yorkshire, North West, Midlands, London and Kent.

The company has recently been awarded a major 30 year contract with Cheshire County Council for which it will provide responsive and planned maintenance as part of a Government PFI initiative.

Back in April 2007, the company also became one of the major subcontractors on the Ashford Social Housing PFI in Kent, where it will provide facilities management services for the life of this 30 year contract, as well as carrying out internal refurbishment works.

Powerminster Gleeson Services is accredited to ISO9001 and ISO14001.

For the past three years, the business has received RoSPA Gold Medals for Safety.
