Gold safety award for Powerminster.

Powerminster Gleeson Services is celebrating after winning a prestigious RoSPA Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Occupational Health and Safety for the ninth year running.

The Gold Medal Award can only be achieved by companies that have received the gold award for five consecutive years and Powerminster Gleeson Services unbroken track record puts it amongst the top of Britain's most conscientious, health and safety aware companies.

The company, which specialises in gas and electrical maintenance, housing refurbishment, PFI projects and facilities management, received the Health and Safety award after providing evidence of excellent health and safety management systems and demonstrating that they work hard to embed a health and safety culture at all levels throughout the organisation.

David Rawlins, RoSPA Awards Manager said: "Powerminster Gleeson Services has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others.

Sally Wood, Support Services Manager for Powerminster Gleeson Services collected the Award on behalf of the company at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, National Exhibition Centre.

Sally said: "We are pleased to have once again achieved this award to demonstrate our continuing commitment to health and safety management within our sector.

Our entire team is deserving of this Gold Medal Award as testament to their dedication to good health and safety practice.

The RoSPA awards are not just about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work; they also help to ensure that organisations have good health and safety management systems in place.

Entering the awards scheme reinforces the message that good health and safety is good business and clearly demonstrates an organisation's dedication to the achievement of high levels of performance in this crucial area".

The RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2008 are sponsored by the NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health).
