Powerminster provides Sheffield care home package

Leading facilities management company Powerminster Gleeson Services, is to provide a comprehensive facilities management package for residents at Brunswick Gardens Retirement Village in Sheffield.

The retirement village is managed by Headrow of Sheffield, on behalf of Arena Housing, the ExtraCare Charitable Trust and Sheffield City Council.

The development consists of 270 self contained apartments and nine bungalows, which have been designed to enable residents to maintain their own independence, but with the support of 24 hour care, 365 days per year if they need it.

The 12 month contract will see Powerminster Gleeson Services providing both planned maintenance and emergency response services to 180 rented properties as part of the development, which includes boiler repair and maintenance, hot water systems, extractor fans, door access systems, satellite TV maintenance as well as window and door maintenance.

The contract also extends to providing planned and emergency response services to the village hall, restaurant, kitchens, lounge and bar areas as well as many other internal area of the building.

This is the second Extra Care development contract won by Powerminster Gleeson Services, which has recently secured a major project to provide facilities management services for the new Oakmere development in Manchester.

This consists of 53 Extra Care apartments and on site facilities, including an IT suite, a hairdressers, library, gym and village hall, which both residents and non-residents over the age of 60 are encouraged to make full use of.

Extra Care housing offers safe and secure accommodation for people over 55 and provides additional support when required, such as access to 24 hour on-call staff, enabling people to live independently in their own homes, with varying levels of support adapted to their changing needs.

In addition to care, a wide range of facilities and social activities are available for residents.

Powerminster Gleeson Services has extensive resources and its own in-house teams dedicated to electrical and gas maintenance servicing and repair and facilities and estates management services.
