Powerminster Gleeson Services has won a Riverside Housing Association contract for electrical installation upgrading after being accepted onto the Fusion21 Planned Maintenance Framework Agreement.

Powerminster Gleeson Services, a subsidiary of M J Gleeson, was accepted onto the Agreement for Electrical and FM services, which has in turn led to the company gaining the contract to carry out upgrades in 200 properties in Leicester.

The properties, owned by Riverside Housing Association, all require their electrical systems inspecting, testing and upgrading.

As part of the contract, qualified engineers from Powerminster Gleeson Services will inspect each house and test smoke alarms, upgrade sockets, install earth bonding and new consumer units, and conduct fixed wire testing.

These services will ensure that the dwellings meet the latest 17th edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), which came into force in July of 2008.

Richard Sutton, Regional General Manager (Midlands) at Powerminster Gleeson Services, commented: "We are delighted to be formally accepted onto the Fusion21 Framework Agreement as it demonstrates that we are a facilities management company that delivers a high-quality and cost-effective service to clients.

He adds: "We have a great deal of experience in electrical installation, maintenance and repair work and our technicians will ensure that all of the 200 properties' electrical systems are inspected, tested and updated to the highest standard".

The contract will be renewed on a year-by-year basis and will allow Riverside Housing Association to make efficiency savings and give tenants the peace of mind that they are living in well maintained, high quality and safe homes.

Fusion21 is a not-for-profit social economy business, independent of the private and public sectors, which promotes collaboration with clients, residents, contractors and suppliers.
