Roof safety goes to school

French contractor Bouygues uses well-proven Crossgrip on flat roof of new PFI funded sports extension at Jack Hunt School in Peterborough.

For safety and maintenance reasons, large areas of the matting have been laid on the flat roof over the school's new PFI funded sports extension.

French contractor Bouygues has cleverly anticipated any future problems on the roof by using well-proven Crossgrip.

The matting has been laid to create walkways which provide maintenance and service staff with permanent and safe access in all weathers.

Crossgrip was specifically chosen because it provides high slip resistance.

Made with flexible 100% PVC, the matting is widely used on flat roofs to provide access and to protect the roof covering.

It is also used on gantries and for high level walkways.

The deeply etched open grid surface is self-draining, resistant to UV or bacterial growth and maintenance free.

Because of its flexible construction, it is easy to lay and contour and, as wind tunnel tests prove, permanently stable even in hurricane force winds.

The matting is supplied in 10m rolls and standard widths of 60, 91 and 122cm.

Crossgrip is one of several safety mattings manufactured by Plastic Extruders (Plastex).
