Phil Bateman, managing director at Proteq said, "The civil engineering sector is an important area of our business and Civils 2004 gave us the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our expertise to leading industry figures.
Our highly interactive stand offered both an insight into our experience and the products we can offer when working at height.
It also offered a timely reminder to those companies that have to meet the new working at height regulations being introduced by the Health and Safety Executive, later this year." Proteq also used the Civils exhibition to launch two new civil engineering products.
Promesh and Proline, which both sit alongside the companies specialist working at height services.
Promesh is a system for the containment of falling masonry and has been developed to offer a cost-effective and convenient alternative to the installation of scaffolding crash decks on buildings.
Promesh is installed in panels which enable the repairs to the building to be staged, planned and budgeted for.
Its ability to absorb high loads will ensure that any falling masonry is retained within the mesh.
ProLine, an overhead line system, principally for use inside buildings, has been developed in response to the ever increasing need to protect employees at height.
A low maintenance, cost efficient method that is easily installed and can help protect employers from the consequential losses arising from an accident onsite.
This is seen has offering major benefits to companies when the new regulations come into force.
In addition the Proteq stand also featured the Cable Safe Limited "Snatch Clamp".
This is a new innovation recently featured on the BBC's "Working Lunch" program and great interest was shown by those in the scaffold industry as it is designed to clip onto scaffold tube and increase safe mobility around the scaffold.
