Pyeroy achieves ISO14001 accreditation

Pyeroy Group specialises in the provision of multi-discipline industrial services to the rail, marine, power generation and oil and gas sectors.

Pyeroy Group has been awarded the prestigious ISO14001 Environmental Management Standard.

This is an important step forward for Pyeroy, helping it to improve the service it offers to private and public sector clients including Network Rail, the MoD and Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).

The award will cover all of Pyeroy's operations and reflects the company's commitment to improving and maintaining greener management systems.

Internally, the accreditation will help to raise the importance of undertaking environmentally friendly working practices among employees operating across Pyeroy's regional offices as well as on-site at customer premises.

It will also be a key feature of all future training programmes for both staff and clients.

Pyeroy has developed its own environmental policy and made a commitment to conform to this as part of the accreditation process, while ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations.

The company will be regularly audited and assessed in future to ensure that it continues to conform to the standard's requirements.

Pyeroy's quality manager Ian Sutherland said: "This is an important award for Pyeroy and demonstrates our commitment to being a more environmentally aware company working towards greener targets".

"Going forward, we will be constantly looking at ways of improving our environmental management processes for the benefit of the business, employees and clients".

The Pyeroy Group is based in Gateshead and employs 1000 people working on industrial, construction and marine projects throughout the UK and Ireland.

The company provides a range of industrial services, which comprise contract scaffolding and equipment hire, surface preparation and application of marine/industrial protective coatings, insulation, civil engineering / building works and environmental management services such as nuclear decommissioning and asbestos removal.
