Smartair access control systems at IFSEC 09
Assa Abloy has a wealth of innovative products on show suitable for a wide variety of applications, whether it's in the physical security sector like the Sentinel 6 deadlock or the eForce 150 or one of the pioneering access control technologies such as Aperio, Cliq, HiO or Smartair, Aperio, the latest in wireless door access control technology, is one of the products that made the shortlist for Physical Security Product of the Year.
Aperio is the instant way to upgrade a mechanical door to a fully online door.
Matt Thomas, Managing Director of Abloy UK part of the Assa Abloy Group, explained: "It's a simple, cost-effective way for customers to increase security and controllability of their premises because they do not have to replace an existing system; they can simply build on the one they have".
"Any existing door can be fitted with Aperio".
"It integrates seamlessly with incumbent doors and systems".
The new Sentinel 6 Deadlock, has also made it onto the shortlist for the awards.
This package has helped Adams Rite, part of Assa Abloy, to enhance its reputation as it takes the complete doorset beyond the LPS1175 standard for commercial and retail premises.
Adams Rite will also launch its new battery-operated keyless entry control, eForce-150.
eForce has surface mounting with concealed fasteners, field selectable handing and a free-wheeling lever with clutch to prevent vandalism It will also operate in extreme temperatures.
The Easy Action Nightlatch, a revolutionary design from another Assa Abloy company, UNION Architectural Hardware, is the third product to make the shortlist.
Using advice from disability groups, the Easy Action Nightlatch has raised the bar in Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliance.
With larger, extended components, tactile rubber surfaces and contrasting colour, it is both easy to grip and operate making it a popular choice for doors accessed by the disabled and the elderly.
There are several other new technologies that are set to catch the eye and capture the imagination of visitors to the Assa Abloy stand.
Demonstrations of the unique wireless door management technology, Smartair, will show how this range of robust, flexible and easily-installed RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) access control systems can be used with almost every application.
Visitors to the stand will also be treated to previews of some groundbreaking new access control systems: CLIQ Remote enables remote programming of both cylinders and keys by mobile technology to grant variable access rights for personnel visiting remote secure locations while Hi-O (Highly Intelligent Opening) allows any number of electronic door components to be connected over a Controller Area Network (CAN) without the need for complex configuration.
Visitors to the Assa Abloy stand at E10 in Hall 3 will be able to see a wide range of innovative new products and technologies on display.
