Euro locks take on new shape with ASSA

An ASSA ABLOY Door Solutions product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 9, 2010

Ironmongery and door hardware manufacturer, ASSA is changing the face of Euro locks with a new design feature.

Newly integrated across the ASSA D450 Euro range is an oval-shaped deadbolt with a double-throw operation, which is proven to increase durability and heighten security levels.

Based upon the popular European style of lock cases, the full product offering includes nine locking solutions for use in applications such as emergency exits, privacy doors and classrooms.

At the forefront of the ASSA D450 Euro range are the D458 and the D459, a sash lock duo offering single-action operation and split-follower functionality.

The D459 is also suitable for use on fire doors.

Both the D458 and D459 can be fitted to perimeter doors requiring a high level of security and incorporate a reversible latchbolt and escape follower.

In addition, the D450 range includes an escape nightlatch with lockable handle, the D457, to allow freedom of passage in both directions or enable users to prohibit access during controlled periods.

The D457 is suitable for classrooms and offices as it deadlocks automatically when the door is closed.

For added flexibility, all D450 locks can be specified with either a round or square stainless steel faceplate and are non-handed, allowing ease of installation on all types of doors.

Designed to meet challenging security needs within education and healthcare environments, D450 products achieve security grade four and have been tested to BS EN 12209.

The D450 range is complemented by additional door furniture - including lever handles and spindles - and can be used with ASSA Euro Profile cylinders.

D450 lock cases are available in the UK from the operating company, ASSA ABLOY Door Solutions, and nationwide via ASSA Security Centres - a network of professional locksmiths and security installation companies.
