Race Cottam have been appointed by one of Sheffield's most prestigious private schools to deliver a new advanced college sports centre to the region.
City practice Race Cottam Associates are producing designs and submitting plans for the brand new GBP4 million sports complex at the historic Mount St Mary's College in Spinkhill, Sheffield As well as providing top new indoor sports facilities, the hall will provide a new entrance reception area for the school overlooking its international standard athletics track and rugby pitches

Mount St Mary's College has a proud sporting reputation and is highly regarded throughout the Midlands and the North of England.
Existing facilities include a fencing salle, fitness suite and rifle range.
The new sports hall will complement South Yorkshire's bid to maximize opportunities from the Olympics and Paralympics in 2012 and is on the shortlist to become a venue for international training camps in the run up to the London Games.
Race Cottam Director Dave Cottam said: "We are delighted to be working on designs which will further enhance the already exceptional sporting facilities at one of the region's top educational establishments".
"The project synchronises Race Cottam's twin specialisms of education and leisure and will be a major boost to school sport in the region".
The new facility will be built as a linked extension adjoining the school's historic Sodality Chapel, dedicated as a war memorial in 1924.
Mount St Mary's College was founded as a Jesuit school in 1842 by Fr Randall Lythgoe and is set in beautiful surroundings on the Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and Derbyshire borders.
It is a co-educational boarding and day school and now welcomes children of all denominations.
Joseph Hansom, an architect and inventor of the Hansom Cab, built the first college buildings in 1840.
The Jesuits also had a college at Holbeck Woodhouse, near Welbeck, which was raided by the soldiers of Charles II during the English Civil War and many of the furnishings were brought to Spinkhill.
Plans for the new sports complex will be submitted before the end of the year with construction expected to start at the end of 2008.
