Energy efficient solutions from Reynaers
Aluminium curtain walling and window systems from Reynaers both feature on the Canary South Project, in London Docklands.
Consisting of a fire station, community centre and 178 private residential and affordable housing units, a primary consideration throughout the project, designed by architects HLM Design , was energy efficiency.
Glazed curtain walling provides a perfect contrast to the terracotta and natural cedar cladding featured on the project, while meeting the energy efficiency requirements of the original design.
The high thermal properties of Reynaers CW50 curtain wall system offered an ideal solution, along with its ability to be adapted to the needs of each individual phase of the project through the integration of varying thicknesses of insulation.
Reynaers CS68 thermally improved, three-chamber window system was also used on the project boasting, as it does, an ideal combination of high insulation levels and optimum security.
Both of the systems, which were fabricated and installed by Clapton Glass , contribute to the overall energy efficiency of the buildings within the development.
Since its completion, the Canary South Project has been commended for its energy efficient design, a concept which is becoming increasingly critical and a major consideration in modern developments, particularly relating to a building's carbon footprint.
Reynaers has been providing quality aluminium systems for over 40 years and maintains its high standards through investing in ongoing product development and testing.
All of the company's window and door systems are available in a full choice of RAL colours, in matt, gloss, anodised and metallic finishes.
