A Radiodetection product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Apr 1, 2003

Radiodetection has begun a new revolution in pipe and cable locating with the launch of the RD4000, the world's first web-enabled pipe and cable locating system.

The new system not only allows users to configure their locating systems through the internet as well as being able to access and download features, but the technology, developed in-house by Radiodetection's team of R and D engineers, leapfrogs all other equipment currently on the market.

Through an internet connection, users are able to register online, access support (including system reconfiguration), download extra features and upgrades quickly and easily.

The RD4000 uses a signal strength meter for pinpoint precision and with all operations carried out through a four key interface, it is simplicity itself to use.

The intuitive 'feel' means that new operators can be up and running with only minimal training and the new technology also brings with it such benefits as real-sound location, excellent locator reaction time along with smooth operation and presentation of results on the LCD screen.

Two receivers have been developed, the standard Rx version and the MRx that allows the location of all EMS and Omni markers.

The marker locate function is immediately activated by folding down the special antenna.

The new RD4000 is a cost-effective tool for all locating applications.

Engineering contractors and subcontractors throughout the utilities will find it the ideal system for detection and location of buried services including gas, electricity, telecom, water and CATV.

Along with the receivers, there is a choice of signal transmitters for the RD4000.

The entry level RD4000T3 instrument with three active, locate frequencies and an induction mode.

One step up is the T3F that includes a fault find function.

Top of the range is the T10, featuring full internet capabilities, up to 16 locate and two induction frequencies, with fault-find as standard.

It is also is fully-compatible with Radiodetection's advanced Pipeline Current Mapper for corrosion management and its A.C.ID-M technology for electronic cable identification.

It's not just the technology that proves the RD4000 is one step ahead.

Its new and improved housing has been designed to be fully-weatherproof, robust and ergonomic to ensure maximum comfort for the user.
