Pipeline Locator And Inspection Expertise At IWEX

A Radiodetection product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Sep 1, 2003

Radiodetection will be demonstrating an impressive range of pipeline inspection and cable locator products on Stand F6 at IWEX 2003.

From the company's Trenchless Products division comes i-Track, an easy to use tracking and guidance system for safety and accuracy in horizontal directional drilling.

This will be joined by the RD4000, the world's first web enabled cable and pipe locator; and Gatorcam, the acclaimed drainage inspection system now fitted with a new electronic self-levelling camera for even greater flexibility.

Ideal for trenchless drilling applications, i-Track is comprised of three parts: a receiver, a remote display (DataView) and a DataSonde.

Each communicates with each other to provide accurate and safe guidance of the drill head, whether in tracking or steering mode.

Features of the i-Track system include rapid and accurate location of the drill head, without mislocates due to "ghosting", automatic tracking and depth, remote steering capability and downhole frequency change to overcome localised interference.

The RD4000 brings unprecedented levels of safety before any on site contractor undertakes any digging activity.

Unlike any other counterpart, web access allows users to register and configure their RD4000 online, and download additional features and support (including system reconfiguration) to upgrade and add extra value.

It also features a signal strength meter for pinpoint locator precision, real-sound location and excellent locator reaction time, plus a smooth operation and presentation of results through an LCD screen.

GatorCam is a low cost compact unit, ideal for small pipe diameter inspection in domestic plumbing, drainage and telecommunications applications.

There is a choice of camera size including a black and white, and a new electronic self-levelling version for easy operation.

The system features variable lengths of flexible rod wound onto a special rugged rotating frame, with the controls and monitor built into a single housing.

Radiodetection has served the water, sewerage and waste markets with innovative pipe inspection and cable locating for many years.

The company sees this exhibition as an ideal opportunity to target customers in this core sector with solutions that increase safety, efficiency and detection accuracy for on site contractors.
