Cameras and Locators on Display at SED

A Radiodetection product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 22, 2004

An exciting display of pipeline inspection and Cable Avoidance Tools is being planned by Radiodetection and Pearpoint at SED this year.

To raise productivity and emphasise the demands for strict health and safety compliance with procedures on site, an exciting display of pipeline inspection and Cable Avoidance Tools is being planned by Radiodetection and Pearpoint at SED this year.

Product demonstrations will include the RD4000 and C.A.T+ cable locators, GatorCam2 and Flexicam inspection systems, the RD4000DL drain locator, the Pearpoint P600 and more.

RD4000 is the world's first web-enabled pipeline locator, which enables users to register and configure their system online, access support, and download additional upgrades.

As the industry byword for cable locators, the C.A.T has become a common feature in hire shops.

The latest 33kHz C.A.T+ measures buried pipe and cable depth, with a visual signal strength display for pinpoint accuracy.

Both systems are suitable for the detection of buried services (water, gas, electricity, telecom, and CATV) and are a must for anyone undertaking ground excavation or drilling activities.

For demanding pipeline and drainage inspection, the GatorCam2 features a camera mounted onto a flexible, stainless steel reinforced push rod wound inside a rugged rotating frame.

Greater efficiency is achieved through a self-levelling camera option that automatically maintains the correct view of the pipe.

To track progress during operation, the RD4000DL is designed to locate the camera head position precisely to a depth of 3m in metallic and 6m in non-metallic pipes.

This entire solution is ideal for drainage, water, utilities, municipal, surveying and transportation applications.

For pipe and tunnel inspection, the Pearpoint P600 is a robust motorised inspection system designed for single man operation and easy transport.

The patented gearing mechanism provides up to 35 kg of pulling power for the robust kevlar protected cabling system, with remote joystick control for easy manoeuvring.

The high resolution camera also features 360 degree continuous pan and tilt to achieve the best possible view down the pipe.

Flexi-cam is lightweight and compact for inspecting small 25mm-100mm diameter pipes.

Images from the high sensitivity 25mm colour camera are viewed on an integral high definition LCD screen.

The camera is mounted on 15m of flex-rod, which can navigate easily round multiple bends and cracks in walls.

This system is suitable for small utility pipeline inspection, central heating and air condition checking, pest control and environmental health monitoring.

Flexicam is also helping Fire crews improve their decision making at special rescue situations, by providing an invaluable 'extra eye'.

Radiodetection has served the world's construction, utilities and telecommunications markets with innovative pipeline inspection and cable locator solutions for many years.

This exhibition is seen as the ideal opportunity to update customers on the latest developments, and confirm its position as the market leader.
