Radiodetection , the world leader in the design, manufacture and supply of underground pipe and cable locators announces the launch of the new RD2000 range of high performance cable avoidance tools.

Using the latest digital technology, the equipment has been developed to accurately and effectively pinpoint, avoid and map buried utilities.

The RD2000 range comprises three application-specific locators, coupled with a new general purpose transmitter.

What makes the new equipment stand out from its competitors is the introduction of three active frequencies.

This enables operators to accurately pinpoint a wide variety of cables, pipes and drains, not just their own, quickly, accurately and easily.

This latest development has been introduced following requests and consultation with utility companies.

To address all applications and budgets, the RD2000 range is available in a number of receiver and transmitter combinations.

The RD2000s has been developed for accurately locating a wide variety of pipes including cast iron, clay, concrete and plastic.

For metallic pipes with a Cathodic Protection System, the RD2000CPS is the receiver of choice, while for high performance location of multiple utilities, then the RD2000+ is available.

The RD2000 incorporates a number of features for added accuracy, safety and ease of use.

Using patented Radiodetection signal-processing techniques the RD2000 range has the ability to reject unwanted signals in the most demanding environments.

Even with interference from overhead electrical cables and congested sites, this enhanced Signal Processing ensures that the information displayed is accurate and repeatable.

Radiodetection locators lead the world in performance and operation.

RD2000 provides "Real Sound"; the sound you hear from the speaker is derived from the cable or pipe.

For the inexperienced user it is important to distinguish the signal from the background noise that is radiated.

"Real Sound" makes this task so much easier.

Although work practices and guidelines insist power cables be buried below a certain depth, a common cause of cable strikes, damage and injuries is unexpectedly shallow cables.

Works such as highway alterations and moving property boundaries mean that cable position can be changed both vertically and horizontally relative to previous plans.

To address such problems, the StrikeAlert feature alerts the user to shallow cables and utility lines in both Power and Active transmitter modes.

This new generation of pipe and cable location systems out performs all existing systems and also represents a cost-effective way of locating buried services such as gas, electric, telecom, water, sewer of CATV.
