Dal-Rod (Cambridgeshire) is an emergency drain cleaning company offering its services to commercial and domestic clients mainly within East Anglia.
Due to the quality and range of services offered, Dal-Rod is a successful and growing business.
So much so that it has bought and fully-equipped a new van to carry out its expanding sewer renovation work.
"We have been carrying out a greater variety of work over the past few months." explains Managing director Mike Pollard.
"Our expertise and equipment has been used for re-rounding of pipe work, patch lining techniques and larger pipe bore lining".
"This is very useful for our larger commercial clients who need a reliable and specialist company to carry out this work".
On call 24/7, Mike Pollard and his team need to have reliable and quality equipment to ensure that their customers get the best possible service first time, every time.
"We get called out to investigate a wide variety of drainage problems." explains Mike.
"Normally, the first step is to carry out a CCTV survey to see what sort of problem we are dealing with".
"For this we need to use equipment that will give us clear, sharp images but also needs to be flexible enough to cope with the different environments we encounter".
"It goes without saying that the equipment has to be rugged and but it also has to be portable and compact, so we can equip our bespoke vans with the tools to carry out the job at hand".
It was a tall order but when Mike approached Pearpoint at Radiodetection, their extensive product range, specialist knowledge and professionalism convinced him that their products were the ideal tools".
"We now have an extensive range of Pearpoint equipment".
"The main benefit to us is its reliability, but it's the added value such as availability of loan equipment at short notice, we are an emergency service after all, and the fact that their sales team, headed up by Robert White are so helpful".
"This makes Pearpoint stand out amongst their competitors".
With the range of Pearpoint equipment on the vans, Dal-Rod is able to carry out numerous drain inspection and cleaning tasks in pipes from 100mm in diameter right up to 1200mm.
The equipment includes Pearpoint's mini mainline tractor system and the new flexiprobe.
The tractors supplied have been built to be both robust and versatile.
Providing considerable advantages over track crawler systems ie they can pull further than any other system on the market, particularly in dirty and cluttered lines and once again beat the competition by having the ability to push further into the pipe.
Their compact length enables easier manhole entry and manoeuvrability.
Dal-Rod was also one of the first drainage companies to purchase the new flexiprobe.
Designed for viewing the internal condition of pipes, conduits and ducts between 1 and 8 inches in diameter (25mm - 200mm), the fully portable system offers the latest in push camera innovation at excellent value for money.
The new flexiprobe uses digital imaging and recording technologies, resulting in sharper, clearer images and recording video onto computer media rather than VHS tapes.
Additionally, the system has high capacity image storage on convenient CompactFlash cards and incorporates simple transfer of video images to PC for inclusion in customer reports.
The video transfer facility has been designed such that video can be transferred to PC without the flexiprobe system having to be carried into a clean office environment".
"We can directly correlate the use of Pearpoint equipment with growing our business." enthuses Mike".
"The fact that the camera head has a 360 rotation enables us to inspect lateral connections".
"This has been very popular with our larger customers and we have won additional lining work as a direct result".
Dal-Rod has now added a new van to its fleet and it is, of course, equipped with the Pearpoint camera inspection equipment.
It's a winning combination for all the two companies plus anyone with a drainage problem in East Anglia can be assured their problem will be sorted quickly an efficiently.
