HS Tech installs REHAU underfloor heating

A REHAU product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 16, 2008

REHAU underfloor heating system installed throughout a new 1300m2 restaurant facility built by Prime Contractors VT Flagship for the Royal Naval Estate Organisation.

HS Tech is helping to keep hungry Navy Ratings warm whilst they dine at HMS Collingwood, near Portsmouth.

Underfloor heating was the obvious choice for such a large open space - combining energy efficiency with excellent comfort levels, and the REHAU system was specified on the basis of its overall product quality.

HS Tech had already carried out a similar installation in the PAYD hall at HMS Raleigh in Plymouth and its success there prompted the MandE contractors Lorne Stewart to award them this contract also.

REHAU PE-Xa universal pipework has been installed using the RAILFIX clip fixing method which makes it easy to fix in circuits across large areas.

The speed and skill of HS Tech's fitting team meant that the pipework was laid in just five days.

HMS Collingwood, the home of the Maritime Warfare School, is the largest naval training organisation in Western Europe.

In a typical year, 30,000 Officers and Ratings pass through the centre.

HS Tech, based in Bristol, specialises in commercial new build developments and as an Authorised Partner works closely alongside REHAU on large scale and technically complex projects.
