Fusion Commercial stair balustrading from Richard Burbidge has helped new developer Court Park Properties to make an entrance into the new build market with its first apartment scheme.

Fusion Commercial stair balustrading from Richard Burbidge has helped new developer Court Park Properties to make an entrance into the new build market with its first apartment scheme.

Located in Henley-on-Thames, Boughton House is a prestigious two and a half-storey development comprising nine two-bedroom apartments, situated on the highly regarded Green Lane in the historic market town.

Fusion Commercial stair balustrading has been installed from the ground to the third floor in the modern, shared entrance stairwell, as part of a high-specification interiors scheme that has helped each of the apartments to sell off-plan.

Fusion Commercial combines round Oak rails and newels with metal balusters and connectors in a modern Brushed Nickel finish for a unique, highly contemporary look.

The system is compliant with UK Building Regulations and has been tested for public stairs requiring loadings of 0.74kN/M, making it ideal for shared stairwells in apartments, offices and hotels.

Mike Moss, Managing Director of Court Park Properties and former Managing Director of Kings Oak and David Wilson Homes, said: "As this was our first development, we wanted to stamp our mark on the housebuilding industry".

"Our aim was to create a premium product with all the luxury details to suit modern day living".

""When it came to selecting the stair balustrading for the shared entrance hall, we were in search of something different to the usual glass or steel systems used in communal areas.

After researching the various options, we settled on Fusion Commercial, as the system's styling complements the apartment interiors.

Plus, its ease of installation and availability off the shelf put it at an advantage over made-to-measure wrought iron systems for example, which have long lead times".

Steve Tapper, Associate at Architects Barton Willmore who designed Boughton House, commented: "First impressions of any building are always important and this is especially true when designing apartment schemes.

Visitors enter through the communal areas and the staircase becomes a natural focal point".

"At Boughton House, we have ensured a stylish entrance that reflects the design and aesthetics of the rest of the development".

"Fusion Commercial is an impressive product that has made an important contribution".

Claire Dowdall, Specification Product Group Manager for Richard Burbidge, added: "Fusion Commercial's individually designed connectors and contemporary finish creates a distinct look that gives personality to a hallway or communal area".

"Boughton House demonstrates how Fusion Commercial can add value by providing a stylish, easy to fit and off the shelf alternative to glass and steel balustrading systems for communal areas".

All timber components in the Fusion Commercial range are supplied pre-cut and pre-varnished, eliminating the need for time-consuming finishing, and the Brushed Nickel balusters are also pre-cut and ready to use.

In most cases, there is no need to modify the components other than cutting the rails and newels to length.

The system can be used for a variety of staircase configurations in commercial projects, including straight, split, cut and closed string staircases.

It is suitable for stair pitches of between 33 and 42 degrees, and handrail heights of 900mm for staircases and 1100mm for landings.

A host of technical support services are available to Fusion Commercial customers, including a technical advice helpline, an online planning service available at www.fusion-commercial.com, and a Fastrack CAD CD.
