New additions to Burbidge Fusion balustrade range
Richard Burbidge has enhanced its Fusion Commercial stair balustrade range with the introduction of new timber options and time-saving components.
Based on a contemporary union of timber and metal, Fusion Commercial is now available in white oak and sapele, offering specifiers and architects a greater choice of timber options.
Also new are pre-assembled metal balusters, supplied ready to install with connectors pre-attached for additional time-saving on-site.
Richard Burbidge has also introduced pre-finished newels, delivered pre-drilled and pre-morticed for greater ease of installation.
All new timber options and components can be used in conjunction with the existing Fusiona Commercial range, which is compliant with UK Building Regulations and is suitable for use on communal stairwells.
David Richards, Commercial Market Manager for Richard Burbidge, comments: "Fusiona Commercial has a proven record in a wide variety of applications and these new additions have been introduced in direct response to customer feedback".
Popular in new and selfbuild homes, white oak is often the preferred choice for flooring and trims, allowing architects to co-ordinate interior designs.
Plus sapele timber is ideal for use in commercial and hospitality environments due to its durability and attractive wood grain.
By taking into account the trend for white oak and sapele in the domestic and commercial market, developers will be able to offer upgrade options and improve margins.
"Plus, pre-finished newels and pre-assembled balusters are also important time saving improvements that will help to reduce costs and make the system even easier to install".
Available off the shelf, Fusion Commercial is an accessible and affordable alternative to expensive bespoke systems that often have lengthy lead times.
In most instances, there is no need to modify the components, other than cutting the rails and newels to length.
Fusion Commercial is compliant with UK Building Regulations for communal areas and is tested for public stairs requiring loadings of 0.74kN/m.
The system can be used for a variety of staircase configurations in commercial projects, including straight, split, cut and closed strings.
It is suitable for stair pitches of between 33 and 42 degrees, and handrail heights of 900mm for staircases and 1100mm for landings.
