RIW has provided podium deck waterproofing at Leftbank, a newly built residential development within the Spinningfields area of Manchester.

Designed by architect Aedas AHR and developed by AMEC, the one, two and three bedroom apartments within Manchester's new business quarter will significantly aid the regeneration in the area.

RIW's waterproofing product Flexiseal was used on the podium deck between the various buildings, which will form the roof of the basement car park.

The waterproofing, applied by Cast Contracting , is essential to protect the concrete deck and to prevent water ingress through the deck, which could potentially damage the vehicles parked below.

Flexiseal is a high performance membrane that when applied forms a seamless, fully bonded, colour coded and robust waterproofing system.

The waterproofing can be easily applied to all the critical areas such as internal and external corners, gully outlets and building interfaces, which are traditionally difficult to waterproof.

RIW's Flexiseal can be applied by hand avoiding the necessity to protect expensive glazing panels from overspray, and by spray allowing large areas to be installed quickly and accurately in critical areas.

Spinningfields is a stylish, sweeping urban development complete with spacious boulevards and walkways with views over the River Irwell.

As well as Leftbank's residential apartments, Spinningfields will also include offices, luxury hotels, shops, restaurants and bars.
