Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Feb 11, 2008

Resin flooring systems specialist, Resin Surfaces, has reinforced its technical team with appointment of natural product specialist to spearhead its diversification into cleaning products.

Tony Lockett , who has enjoyed a long and distinguished career developing cleaning chemicals for use in the construction and automotive sectors, joined RSL to launch its initial six-strong range of sustainable cleaning products.

As a chemist, he has played a pioneering role in formulating chemicals from sustainable materials, with an interest in this area stretching back fifteen years.

Tony commented: "Having long been aware that oil is a finite resource, I made it my professional interest to look into which naturally derived chemicals can be used to create effective and sustainable cleaning materials." RSL's cleaning products are formulated from plant-based, replenishable materials, including a seaweed extract unique to the market.

Tony added: "It's great to be able to continue my work with RSL and being closely involved in research and development going forward.

There is always more to be done in this area, and I'm looking forward to the challenge of expanding and improving the range.

RSL managing director, Ivy Wroe, concluded: "Tony's credentials will not only be a considerable asset to us, but commitment to developing new products to give us the same competitive edge in the cleaning sector that we already enjoy in resin flooring.

We are delighted to be able to welcome him to the team.".
