Resin Surfaces and Steadfast Flooring have furnished one of the UK's biggest comic book warehouses with a super new resin floor.

The Diamond Comics' warehouse in Runcorn, Cheshire, is the UK distribution centre for Marvel Comics, home to superheroes such as Spiderman After relocating to the premises on Canalside in autumn 2007, Diamond Comics approached specialist flooring contractor, Steadfast Flooring, and RSL to provide a new floor surface across the 3,300m2 site

Steadfast Flooring managing director, Dave Burrows, commented: "The existing floor was in a bad state of repair and needed comprehensive replacement as part of a general refurbishment of the building.

We selected RSL materials for the job as they offered the combination of value and durability that were key for the job".

Firstly, the surface was prepared with a coat of water-based epoxy primer, Resuseal WB, before being patched and diamond ground.

Following this, a coat of epoxy-based high build, Resucoat HB was applied to provide a smooth, trafficable and aesthetically pleasing floor surface.

RSL managing director, Ivy Wroe, concluded: "Refurbishment projects of this nature are often superhuman projects, as they require manufacturers and installers to work together to provide systems that offer value while also being quick to install.

We are delighted that the Diamond Comics installation has proved such a success and look forward to working with Steadfast Flooring as a dynamic duo in future projects".
