Garage makeovers made easy with Dynotile
Garages and workshops will no longer be the forgotten rooms when it comes to home makeovers, thanks to a revolutionary floor tiling system that has already swept the U.S. market.
Garages and workshops will no longer be the forgotten rooms when it comes to home makeovers, thanks to a revolutionary floor tiling system that has already swept the U.S.market.
Dynotile, with its patent-pending overlapping, interlocking design, is an easy-to-install system of tiles constructed from a specially-designed polymer that increases durability through strength and shock absorption.
With a range of nine colours to choose from, it is an ideal covering for garages, home gyms, basements or outdoor decking, and is a simple solution to cover up damaged or faded surfaces such as lino or wood.
And the way engineers have designed Dynotile ensures that it acts as a layer of insulation - keeping feet and stored items away from concrete floors.
The tiles are made up of a honeycomb support structure that features Radius Tunnels - designed to allow moisture that rises from the substructure to evaporate.
Dynotile is being introduced to the UK by West Midlands-based Rockwell Sheet Sales, a leading supplier of innovative plastic roofing, glazing and building materials.
Managing Director Jim Flynn said: "Dynotile is easy to install, and, using a bespoke facility on the website, people can plan the design of their flooring, ensuring they buy what they need.
"Garages are really the forgotten rooms when it comes to makeovers and presenting properties properly.
"But, by creating a comfortable workspace in your garage or workshop, you could also be adding value to your home when you come to sell it." Anita Kenna is director of www.homestagingconsultants.co.uk, a UK network of independent home staging businesses that offer advice to homeowners on how to improve property presentation so they can sell their homes quickly and at the best price.
She said: "When it comes to selling your home, you have to stage it right in order to attract a potential buyer - Dynotile can only be an additional appealing factor to hook viewers".
And Geoff Richardson, who runs www.HscProperty.com, a website for people selling their homes independently of an estate agent, said: "Properties that are well presented gain much better response and achieve a quicker sale.
"By using Dynotile on a garage floor, or in a gym or other hobby room, homeowners can make it easier to achieve a higher price for their property".
Dynotile is easy to install, with people being able to fit the tiles themselves - with no need for professional help.
All the installer has to do is align the pegs and loops and press them together.
There is no need for glue or prior floor preparation (although Dynotile has been designed to be installed on clean, flat surfaces).
It is estimated that it will take two hours to complete a one-car garage, three hours for a two-car garage and four hours for a three-car garage.
Edges and corner pieces can be fitted and, once completed, it can be easily cleaned with the use of a broom or mop.
