The Rockfon Sonar ceiling system was recently specified by Strathclyde Police Property Services as part of the refurbishment of Paisley Police Station.

Sonar was specified principally for its excellent sound absorption, minimalist aesthetics and high levels of moisture resistance.

1000sqm of the high-density stone wool ceiling tiles were installed on a concealed grid system in the general and management offices, corridors, toilets and showers.

"We have installed Rockfon ceiling systems previously so were confident in specifying them for this particular project," said Derek Brown from Strathclyde Police Property Services.

"We selected Sonar for its acoustic properties as it was very important there was no sound transfer between rooms.

We wanted a minimalist design and the concealed grid system combined with the subtly textured, matt white surface met our design brief." Rockfon Sonar is a high-density stone wool tile that combines a superior quality finish with excellent performance in terms of sound absorption, fire safety and humidity resistance.

Sonar Silence ceilings provide even higher levels of sound attenuation thanks to their composite construction, helping to create the optimal acoustic environment for installations such as cellular offices, lecture theatres, music rooms and large classrooms.
