Ceilings driven by aesthetics at Saab

Rockfon Ceilings 'the contractors choice'
Tapper Interiors from Banbury recently specified and installed over 4000 sq m of Rockfon Pacific suspended ceiling system for a BMW Showroom in Solihull.
For the ceilings, over 3,000sq m of Rockfon products were specified by architects, The Fletcher Joseph Partnership, including Rockfon Sonar Monolith Rockfon Lunar and Dekor.
Sonar was installed in the arena area, the swimming and leisure facilities, which include a sauna and steam room, and in the luxury spa area.
In these areas, being non hygroscopic and providing excellent moisture resistance was a prerequisite and Sonar was the ideal solution, offering moisture resistance of up to 100% humidity.
The attractive white matt painted surface enables a crisp, clean appearance and high light reflection.
In the 650-seat arena, one of the most important considerations was the control of sound pollution, and Rockfon Sonar offered the required high sound absorption and acoustic control.
Additionally, being a public venue, fire resistance was a priority.
Rockfon Sonar high density ceiling is made from 100% stone wool and thus meets and exceeds all the legislation set down for fire resistance.
"Certain regulations with this specific project had to be accounted for and this included the fire resistant properties of the ceiling material," comments Brian Williamson of ceiling contractors, PFP.
"The Rockfon portfolio provided this, and with the company representatives consistently on hand to provide advice and support, the project was finished smoothly and quickly".
The result is a range of specialist ceilings that meet all necessary regulations and requirements for acoustic, fire and humidity control, as well as the aesthetic demands of the client.
According to architect, Derek Gannon of Fletcher Joseph, the Rockfon products more than adequately suited the purpose.
"The project was very successful," he says.
"We are very happy with the Rockfon product range, finding it very easy to use and install and we shall be using the ceilings in future projects that we undertake.".
