Operating throughout the UK, the company stocks an extensive range of roofing and insulation materials, including a number of BBA-certificated own-brand products.

The company provides a single source of all commonly used roofing products, ranging from soffit vents, hip irons and flash-band to lead sealant and batten nails.

It also holds large stores of materials such as breather membranes, felts and Superquilt insulation.

'Next day' delivery is available on all stocked products, and the company plans to launch an on-line technical advice and stock enquiry system by the end of this summer (2006).

In addition to stocking a range of materials from leading UK and European manufacturers, Roofing Supplies Direct is also developing a range of own-brand roofing products, the first of which is its flagship breather membrane, RSD Pro-Breathe.

This three-layer, UV-stabilised laminate is vapour permeable (1100g/m2 per 24 hours) but will not permit the ingress of water, so it is suitable for use as an underlay on all slated or tiled pitched roof designs, whether supported or unsupported.

RSD Pro-Breathe is supported by IAB and BBA certification, confirming that it may be used on ventilated and unventilated, cold and warm-pitched roofing systems.

The polypropylene membrane achieves a Class E rating for flame retardancy when tested in accordance with EN 11925-2 and conforms, too, with the requirements of DIN 4102 Part1 B2.

Weighing just 125g/m2, it exhibits good tear and tensile strength and is fully recyclable.

RSD Pro-Breathe is sold in 50 metre rolls and standard widths of either 1.0 or 1.5 metres.

In order to ensure that it can provide an effective and reliable back-up service, Roofing Supplies Direct has appointed a new technical support team, which offers on-site support throughout the country.

Staff are available to provide advice about both new build and refurbishment projects, and, where required, they will accompany architects or builders merchants' representatives on site visits.

Roofing Supplies Direct is engaged in an ongoing programme of new product development and will shortly be announcing the introduction of several other new products, including a moisture control membrane for new timber framed structures.
